Phew, what a smell

Oh yes. Along with the dead 'presents' that your furry friend brings you, cleaning a cat litter tray has to be one of the worst parts of having a cat. And I had five at one time! I was amazed to see that you can actually train a cat to use a toilet, just like a human - though I'm not too sure about the flushing. But this is a bit of fiction, right?

What, like that cat in that film?

Yes, If you've seen Meet the Parents or Meet the Fockers you will have seen Mr Jinx, that cat that can use the loo. And to be honest I thought it was all camera trickery or 'stunt cats'! But no, apparently a cat can be trained to use a toilet. Just have a look at this video.

So what about my cat?

Well, I don't know about you but frankly I was amazed. And when I looked into things a bit closer I found that it is quite common. Indeed many videos on Youtube feature toilet going cats - is this voyeurism on a feline scale? But then if you can train your cat to go in a litter box, why not train it to go in a toilet? After all it's cheaper than cat litter, less hassle and actually better for the environment as you're not putting the litter, poo and bag into landfill.

Cat toilet training definitely gets a thumbs up from me. I just wish I could get my little boy to use the toilet with such ease!

Good hub with nice information. I like how you put a picture of your own cat on the page, such a cutie!

She is a love, very talkative and quite lonely as I lost two of my other cats in March. I love the video though!
